After all of their trouble over unfavourable comments directed at Bush the expectation was that they would aplogize unconditionally. They have not and have done a great job explaining why.

The Dixie Chicks beat back Diane Sawyer on national TV, posed nude for Entertainment Weekly and stood up to the reactionary zeal of country radio. In a time of crisis for America, they’re patriots we can be proud of.

It was good to see him. He is simply one of the best political speakers ever. I think even people who don’t agree with his politics (here speaking of what he calls a Third Way) would acknowledge his oratorical skills.

Hearing both his politics and his delivery are particularly refreshing as a contrast to what/whom we have to listen to these days (and who, by the way, will be speaking on television tonight).
